At First Glance

The immediate things your character might pick up on when seeing Mathrias.Hempbeard: Mathrias' clan name is well earned, given the emerald hue of his fur. Broken up by patches of dark blonde hair the same shade as his long mane, with the light dark green strand strewn in. Additionally he has darker green stripes that streak across his body not unlike those of a tiger, though he sees no resemblance.Presence: Hempbeard has a distinct smell, not unlike hemp itself. A sweet smell that may threaten to be overbearing, of course his pipe is never far from his person. Like most hrothgar he is a looming physical presence with a tendency to be touchy and energetic in his gesturing. His voice carries the distinct rumble and accent of his people, nordic is a plain word for it. He treats most like friends and does not shy from contact.For the Road: Unless you find him in more casual environs, it is expected that Mathrias has donned his armor and carries with him his trusted sword. The armor is plain, but well made, most notably it is a shade of dark purple that truly brings out the green of his fur. Someone knows their colour theory. The sword has more distinct character, it is a large twohanded blade, though it seems so big as to be unruly and requires two hands to wield. It has seen many years of combat but sees equal amounts of care and polish.Shadowbringer: Though he never boasts of it, nor seems to brood near enough, Hempbeard's aetheric presence has a distinct darkness. Tied to the powers of the Dark Knight that he wields when the situation demands it. This aura is not hidden and any with the ability to sense such matters would sense it a mile away. It earns him ire and fear from many, respect from the few.

Feel free to reach out in any capacity, I am very new to the RP scene on FF and am looking to make friends who share a love for telling stories. The following hooks are ideas of possible character connections, interests or merely a preview of Mathrias.Northern Roots: Mathrias grew up in a small nomadic clan of Hrothgar, wandering the frozen lands north of Ilsabard.Eastern Teachings: During his youth, Mathrias spent many years in the Far East, here he learned to wield the blade and much more, given his studious mind and an overabundance of books. He never did become a Samurai, his was a different path.Citizen of the Holy See: For the first time in his life, Mathrias has a home. A small study paid for in adventuring coin, making him a regular face in the cold cathedral-esque streets of Foundation and beyond.Adventurous: In this world, the monetarists rule more than Mathrias would like, and thus he must make ends meet. He does this by plying his trade for Gil, a regular Adventurer by trade, though some may find that term too good for his dark ilk.
